Do you have “Something” to say?

Lets's be frank, I am sure you face chapters in the bible that do not seem to have something to touch you or reach you. These verses and chapters are always a challenge i can't explain, I just feel them out of place and out of touch with my current days. I then put my reading in front of HIM and ask for enlightenment, may be something tingles my heart or teases my thoughts!

Reading Acts 25 was one of these daunting and hard tasks! I struggled finding a message that touch me personally...until I hit the following verses:

“Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like TO HEAR the man myself.” “Tomorrow,” Festus replied, “you will hear him.”
So the next day Agrippa and [his sister] Bernice came with great pageantry, and they went into the AUDITORIUM accompanied by the military commanders and the prominent men of the city. At the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.”
‭‭ACTS‬ ‭25:22-23‬ ‭

Indeed…This is so relevant to our 21st century!
Social media and technology made it way easier for people to express their thoughts, ideas and beliefs. What used to happen only in “audience room/auditorium” is now taking place at the tip of your fingers and on bright screens reaching every inch of the globe. Just like Agrippa, the world around us is in constant watching/listening mode. Like it or not, We are surrounded by “Agrippas” hungry to know more about the message we bring.

Paul, the greatest missionary, led by the Holy Spirit did not take such opportunities lightly, he made sure that his words and, above all, his life were clear messages of hope, change, redemption and liberation found in His personal Redeemer!

100s of Agrippas surround you every day...
they want to hear what you have say…
Be ready to bring them the Good news...
And above all the path to follow His way!

عندك حاجة تقولها ؟

كثير ما بقابل آيات و يمكن اصحاحات من الكتاب المقدس أحس و كأنها" لا " تلمس قلبي و" لا" تخاطبني على الاطلاق!
بأبُص للآيات و الاصحاحات دي "بتحدي" :) و بالأخص لو ما لهاش تطبيق في حياتنا اليوميه !
عندما أواجه هذه الايات أضعها أمام الله في الصلاة
و أسأله " إستنارة " خاصة ، ربما معنى يلمس قلبي أو يستثير أفكاري !
و بالفعل ، و بينما أقرأ أعمال الرسل ٢٥ ، قابلتني إحدى تلك المهام " الآيات" الشاقة !

تعبت لأخرج منها رسالة تخاطبني ، صارعت مع الآيات طويلاً..حتى وقعت عيناي على تلك الآيات ..

“فَقَالَ أَغْرِيبَاسُ لِفَسْتُوسَ: «كُنْتُ أُرِيدُ أَنَا أَيْضًا أَنْ أَسْمَعَ ٱلرَّجُلَ». فَقَالَ: «غَدًا تَسْمَعُهُ». فَفِي ٱلْغَدِ لَمَّا جَاءَ أَغْرِيبَاسُ وَبَرْنِيكِي ( أخته ) فِي ٱحْتِفَالٍ عَظِيمٍ، وَدَخَلَا إِلَى دَارِ ٱلِٱسْتِمَاعِ مَعَ ٱلْأُمَرَاءِ وَرِجَالِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ ٱلْمُقَدَّمِينَ، أَمَرَ فَسْتُوسُ فَأُتِيَ بِبُولُسَ.”
‮‮أَعْمَالُ ٱلرُّسُلِ‬ ‭25:22-23‬ ‭

بصراحة .. أجد أن ما حدث قريب جداً من واقعنا الحالي في القرن الواحد و العشرين !
وسائل التواصل الإجتماعي جعلت الأمر أسهل كثيراً أن يعبر الناس عن أفكارهم و آراءهم و معتقداتهم .
ما كان في العادة يقال في " دار الإستماع " أصبح الآن يقال و يُكتب في متناول " أطراف أصابعك " على الشاشات الساطعة و يصل الى كل "شبر " من الكرة الارضية !

صدقوني، تماماً مثل أغريباس ، العالم من حولنا في حالة ترقب / وإنصات!
و سواء أعجبك هذا أو لم يعجبك فنحن محاطين ب
" أغريباس " جائعين لمعرفة الرسالة التي نحملها !

بولس ، الرسول العظيم ، مسوقاً من الروح القدس ، لم يتهاون مع تلك الفرص العظيمة ، بل تأكد من أن الكلمات التي يحملها بل و بالأكثر حياته ذاتها هي رسالة من الامل و التغيير ، من الفداء و التحرر ، تلك التي وجدها في المسيح الذي حرر بولس نفسه .

مئات من " أغريباس " يحيطون بك كل يوم ..
ينتظرون لسماع ما تقول ..
فكن مستعداً لتقديم تلك " الاخبار السارة "..
ولتكن حياتك واضحة..على الطريق !

Behind Closed Doors

On my walk last week in Giethoorn, a small town known as the Dutch Venice, I came across this beautiful scene, this slightly open gate, the narrow path in the garden leading beyond my sight...I couldn't resist capturing it on camera. Don't you agree with me that there is something mystical about doors specially the ones left slightly open...and about pathways with out-of-sight endings! They are both always intriguing and do send to our minds a call to explore. Yet, there is always this fear of the unknown holding us back from opening, entering and walking through. Think about your first visit to a friend's place, you probably follow the instructions given to you blindly. Your friend, over the phone usually, might ask you to drive in dark streets, walk in small alleys, take stairs and open some gates and doors to reach their place-specially if they live in one of the new established areas of town. You will have the courage to move on and boldly explore what is beyond these gates and hidden pathways...only because you TRUST the one guiding you. Alone, specially at night, you wouldn't even dare opening one of these doors in fear of what would wait for you on the inside.

What a great comfort we have on our path of life when we know which door to open and to where it would lead...which path to cross and which destination you reach. It has nothing to do with the looks of the door or the beauty of the way...it just solely relies on the One calling you and giving you guidance...the One reassuring that this is The way. You trust The person...not the door nor the road as both always lead to the unknown.

“Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.” John‬ ‭10:7, 9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“فقالَ لهُمْ يَسوعُ أيضًا: «الحَقَّ الحَقَّ أقولُ لكُمْ: إنّي أنا بابُ الخِرافِ. أنا هو البابُ. إنْ دَخَلَ بي أحَدٌ فيَخلُصُ ويَدخُلُ ويَخرُجُ ويَجِدُ مَرعًى.”

Every new day in our lives is a new closed door...a new pathway! Some days the road might be green as a spring field or just harsh as a valley of death. Do not fear as your trust relies not on what your eyes can see but on The One who called you and told you He is The Gate and The Way!

..خلف الأبواب المواربة 

في أثناء زيارتي ل

 ،  Giethoorn، مدينة صغيرة معروفة ب " ڤينيسيا الهولندية " الأسبوع الماضي، مررت إلى جوار هذا المشهد الرائع في جماله ولم أستطيع مقاومة تصويره 

ألا تتفقون معي إن هناك شئ ما غامض في تلك الأبواب ، بالأخص التي تترك نصف مفتوحة ( مواربة ) ..و تلك الممرات التي لا ترى نهايتها
!كلاهما دائماً جذاب، وكأنما يرسلان إلى عقولنا دعوة للإستكشاف
ومع هذا ، هناك الخوف من المجهول، نخاف من طريق لا نرى نهايته و من باب مفتوح لا نعرف أين يقودنا ، الخوف يمسكنا أن نفتح الباب و نعبر و نمشي
فكر أيضاً في زيارة لبيت صديق لأول مرة (خاصة لو يسكن أحد المدن الجديدة ) تجدك تتبع توجيهاته دون أن ترى مسبقاً إلى أين يوجهك ، على الهاتف يقودك ربما في شوارع مظلمة ، ربما ممرات ضيقة ، تصعد سلالم و ربما تفتح بعض البوابات و الأبواب ، كل هذا لكي تصل اليه
!وأنت تجد الشجاعة لكي تتقدم بجرأة و تكتشف ما خلف البوابات و ما تخفيه الممرات .. فقط لأنك " تثق " في الصديق الذي يقودك
!!ماذا لو كنت وحدك ، و ليلاً حيث الظلام ، بالتأكيد لن تجرؤ على فتح أحد تلك الأبواب خوفاً مما ينتظرك خلفها 

ما أعظمالارتياح الذي يصاحبنا في دروب الحياة عندما ندرك أي الأبواب نفتح و إلى أين ستقودنا .. أي الممرات نعبر و أي وجهة سنصل
و الأمر لا علاقة له بشكل الأبواب و لا بجمال الطريق
و إنما فقط تعتمد على من "يدعوك" و " يقودك ".. الذي يضمن لك و يؤكد " هذا هو الطريق ".. أنت تضع ثقتك في الشخص.. لا في الباب و لا في الطريق فكلاهما يقودك الى المجهول 

“فَقَالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ أَيْضًا: «ٱلْحَقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنِّي أَنَا بَابُ ٱلْخِرَافِ. أَنَا هُوَ ٱلْبَابُ. إِنْ دَخَلَ بِي أَحَدٌ فَيَخْلُصُ وَيَدْخُلُ وَيَخْرُجُ وَيَجِدُ مَرْعًى.”‮‮ يُوحَنَّا‬ ‭10:7, 9‬ ‭

“قَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «أَنَا هُوَ ٱلطَّرِيقُ وَٱلْحَقُّ وَٱلْحَيَاةُ. لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَأْتِي إِلَى ٱلْآبِ إِلَّا بِي.” يُوحَنَّا‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭

!إذن ، كل يوم جديد في حياتنا هو باب مغلق و طريق جديد
بعض الأيام ، سيكون الطريق أخضراً كحقول الربيع ، و بعضها قاسٍ كوادي الموت

!لا تخف ، فثقتك لا تعتمد على ما تراه عيناك بل على من دعاك و قال أنا هو الباب و الطريق

Come and See

Our lives these days turned into a wide open invitation. Whether you like it or not, social media helped bringing to light what used to be personal and known to very few. Now everyone knows what you had for dinner, how your room looks like and for sure what you did last summer! It helped us all put a big inviting sign of "Come and See" what our lives is all about…thank God we are, yet, in control of what to share. People now carefully choose what to bring forth for the world to see…some invite to "come and see" their achievements, others their thoughts and some just bring on their mood swings! The whole success of social media is built on the inviting power of these two intriguing words to human beings …“Come and See”!

Nearly 2000 years ago few "Come and See" invitations changed the course of history. 

Couple of John the baptist followers, after meeting Jesus for the first time, felt the divine call to follow him asking “Teacher, where are you staying?” (John 1:38)
And He replied with these two same powerful words..“Come and you will See.” (John 1:39)
Later one the two followers, Andrew, moved by the amazement he found in the Messiah, invited his brother Peter to “Come and See” Jesus (John 1:42)

The next day, in Galilee, Philip answered the call of Jesus to follow Him…and right away felt the urge to “Share” the long waited-for good news…he went to his friend Nathanael and told him “Come and See” (John 1:46)

….And from these moments on wards, History took its first steps on the path of Grace!

Come and see…an invitation we all bring daily on social media or even in our day to day conversations…
What are you inviting the world to “come and see”?

تعال .. و انظر
تحولت حياتنا في هذا الأيام إلى دعوة مفتوحة
و سواء أعجبك أم لا ، فقد تطوعت وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي في تسليط الضوء على كل ما يفترض به أن يكون من الامور الشخصية
الان أصبح معروفاً عند الجميع .. ماذا تناولت في العشاء ، أو كيف تبدو حجرتك ، و بالتأكيد .. ماذا فعلت في الصيف الماضي
كأنما نضع لافتة كبيرة ندعو بها الجميع مكتوباً عليها 
" تعالوا .. و انظروا "
تعالوا و انظرو على حياتنا و على أهم أمورنا و أدق تفاصيلنا.
و نشكر الله أن مازال بإمكاننا أن نتحكم فيما نشارك به الآخرين
نختار و ننتقي ما نقدمه للناس و ما نخفيه عنهم
فالبعض يعرض إنجازاته و نجاحاته ، البعض يعرض أفكاره و آراءه ، و البعض يكتفي بعرض تقلباته المزاجية
و كل نجاح وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي قائم على تلك الكلمتين اللتان تداعبان إهتمامنا و تثيره " تعال .. و انظر 

منذ ما يقرب الألفي عام ، قليل من تللك الدعوات " تعالى و انظر " قامت بتغير مجرى التاريخ 
فتلميذين من أتباع يوحنا المعمدان ، بعد مقابلة مع يسوع لأول مرة ، وبرغبة مقدسة نحو تبعيته ، تساءلوا ، 
«رَبِّي» ٱلَّذِي تَفْسِيرُهُ: يَا مُعَلِّمُ. «أَيْنَ تَمْكُثُ؟».”
‮‮يُوحَنَّا‬ ١:٨٣
وكانت إجابته بكلمتين مثيرتين ، و قديرتين ،
“فَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «تَعَالَيَا وَٱنْظُرَا».
‮‮يُوحَنَّا‬ ١: ٩٣

وبسرعة ذهب أحد التلميذين " أندراوس" متأثراً بالروعة التي وجدها في المسيح لدعوة أخوه بطرس ،
" تعال و انظر "
‮‮يُوحَنَّا‬ ١: ٢٤

و في اليوم التالي في الجليل ، لبى فيلبس دعوة يسوع أن يتبعه ، و سريعاً إستشعر الرغبة الملحة في مشاركة تلك البشرى التي طال إنتظارها ، فذهب إلى صديقه نثنائيل و دعاه .. " تعال و انظر " يوحنا ١: ٤٦
ومن تلك اللحظة ، خطى التاريخ خطوته الاولى على طريق النعمة
تعال و انظر .. دعوة نقدمها كل يوم على وسائل التواصل ، بل أيضاً في حواراتنا اليوميه 

و السؤال هنا .. ما الذي تدعو الآخرين إليه ؟

ما الذي تقدمه للناس من خلال الكلمتين : تعالوا ، و انظروا

Change of Seasons

Change of seasons has its rituals here in Europe. Welcoming winter requires some life adjustments to the city and its inhabitants, not only referring to some Christmas decoration on the streets, earlier hour for turning on the light posts and Anti Slippery snow ready tires, but also about the preparations put in place to receive such a harsh season. what was truly catching my attention is how they dealt with greenery and trees, the beautiful sight of "dead"colorful tree leaves displaying a splendid array of red to orange colors will soon all fall to leave naked thick "scary" branches. They know end of Autumn comes with heavy winds to bring down the leaves, but also shake off the dead branches. For that, they go around trimming and cutting off loose branches to avoid that this beautiful autonomy looking tree doesn't turn into a life threatening block falling on the heads of pedestrians or crushing down cars. Cutting away and Trimming the tree to Make it safe and ready for the trials of Blowing winds and loads of Snow!

You know that you and I are branches hanging to the Tree of Life, Branches extending from our Lord. I love tis passage in John 15, where Jesus talks to us about the power of abiding in Him, Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine/tree, neither can we bear fruit unless we abide in Him. But the second verse of this passage might be shocking to some:

"Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit." (John 15:2 AMP)

«أنا الكَرمَةُ الحَقيقيَّةُ وأبي الكَرّامُ. كُلُّ غُصنٍ فيَّ لا يأتي بثَمَرٍ يَنزِعُهُ، وكُلُّ ما يأتي بثَمَرٍ يُنَقّيهِ ليأتيَ بثَمَرٍ أكثَرَ. (15 يوحَنا:1-2 )

Yes, We will be cleansed and trimmed to bear more fruits, we will go through tough cutting to be ready for the winds to come and for the snow to carry. God, Through His loving Hands, knows how our dead branches can crush the ones around us, how falling leaves can leave a mess and slippery grounds on our path of life. It is tough yet His caring hands and Holy Spirit will allow and take us through to bring us to make you and I bear richer, and more excellent fruits.

Heavenly Father, Here I am..Make me ready for the change of seasons...ready to stand firm and strong abiding in You when the wind blows and winter tests..for in Spring by your glory I shall flourish your Love to the world and bring shade to the ones in need.

Let the trimming begin!

!تغيير الفصول 

لكل تغيير في فصل من فصول السنة طقوساً خاصة تمارس هنا في أوروپا
و للترحيب بالشتاء نصيباً كبيراً من تلك الطقوس و الإستعدادات التي تخص المدن و سكانها .
ليس فقط الكريسماس و زيناته التي تتوج الشوارع و المحال، أو إضاءة أعمدة الانارة مبكراً ،أو إستبدال إطارات السيارات بأخرى تقاوم الانزلاق على الثلج ، ولكن أكثر ما أثار إنتباهي في إستقبال هذا الموسم القاسي، هو الاستعدادات التي تتعلق بالنباتات و الاشجار

فمع إنتشار تلك التشكيلات الرائعة لألوان أوراق الاشجار " الذابلة "، مختلطة بدرجات الأحمر و البرتقالي ، التي و قريباً جداً سوف تتساقط و تترك لنا تلك الاغصان الجافة المخيفة
مع كل هذا الجمال يعلمون أن نهاية الخريف سوف تأتي برياحها القوية مزمعة ليس فقط إسقاط تلك الاوراق الجافة سريعاً ، و لكنها تهز الأغصان أيضاً .. فيسقط منها كل ما كان ضعيفا
ومن أجل ذلك ، ينتشر العمال في الشوارع يقطعون الاغصان التي يستشعرون أنها ليست "ثابتة " في أصولها ، لكي لا يتحول جمال الخريف بألوانه و طبيعته الى مخاطرة " خشبية" تهدد حياة المارة أو تدمر السيارات
قطع تلك الاغصان الواهية ، يجعل الاشجار جاهزة مستعدة للصمود أمام الرياح القريبة القادمة و لكتل الثلج الثقيلة المتوقعة 

هل تدرك أني و أنت أيضاً أغصان متعلقة بشجرة كبيرة ، شجرة الحياة ،أغصان ممتدة من إلهنا

أحب هذا الفصل من الكتاب في إنجيل يوحنا ١٥ ، عندما يتكلم يسوع إلينا عن الثبات فيه ، و كما أنه لا يمكن أن يحمل الفرع ثماراً من ذاته دون الثبات و الاتحاد بأصل الكرمة ، هكذا نحن لا يمكن أن نحمل ثماراً دون أن نتثبت به ، و لكن الجزء الاخير من هذا الفصل ، ربما أيضاً يكون صادماً لنا ،
«أنا الكَرمَةُ الحَقيقيَّةُ وأبي الكَرّامُ.
كُلُّ غُصنٍ فيَّ لا يأتي بثَمَرٍ يَنزِعُهُ، وكُلُّ ما يأتي بثَمَرٍ يُنَقّيهِ ليأتيَ بثَمَرٍ أكثَرَ. (15 يوحَنا:1-2 )

نعم ، سوف نتنقى كالاشجار ، و قد " تُقَص " بعض الاغصان كيما نمتلئ بالثمار ، قد " تُقَلَّم" بعض الفروع
و " تُشَذب " أخرى ، قد نعبر خلال هذه الإعدادات القاسية ، لكي نحتمل الرياح القادمة و الثلوج الثقيلة
الله ، و بيده الحانية المحبة ، يعلم أن بعض أغصان عزيزة علينا قد تؤذي من حولنا ، وأن بعض أوراقنا الجافة المتساقطة بعد فترة تؤدي بنا الى الزلل و الانزلاق على ممرات الحياة
إستعدادات قد تبدو قاسية و لكنها هامة و ضرورية و يد اللة المعتنية و الروح القدس يعملان بكل حرص لنجتاز ألم الانفصال و التشذيب ، لكي ما نغتني ، أنا و أنت بثمار أكثر و أعظم

إلهي السماوي 
ها أنا أمامك ، أعدَّني لكل التغييرات المقبلة ، أعدَّني لأقف صامداً قوياً ثابتاً فيك ، عندما تهب الرياح و تعصف بحياتي إختبارات الشتاء 
و عندما يحل الربيع بمجدك، أزهر حبك أمام العالم ، و أنشر ظلالك لكل من في حاجة إليها 
فلنسمح للتهذيب أن يبدأ
