End of the Year Already!?

Do you feel like me the year went so fast...

Do you feel that you have been very busy, exhausted, over whelmed and needing a break...
Studies, work, kids, debts, responsibilities, service, social pressure, family duties...The list goes on and on!

Yes, You need a break...

Jesus calls you today like he did with His disciples; He received them after they went off to their missions healing and teaching in His name...
They wandered the cities serving the lonely, the sick, the hurt and the poor...
He saw their powers exhausted and asked them to Stop, Step out with Him and Relax!
What a compassionate and refreshing Invitation...

“The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them,
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.”
Mark‬ ‭6:30-32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“واجتَمَعَ الرُّسُلُ إلَى يَسوعَ وأخبَروهُ بكُلِّ شَيءٍ، كُلِّ ما فعَلوا وكُلِّ ما عَلَّموا.
فقالَ لهُمْ: «تعالَوْا أنتُمْ مُنفَرِدينَ إلَى مَوْضِعٍ خَلاءٍ واستَريحوا قَليلًا».
لأنَّ القادِمينَ والذّاهِبينَ كانوا كثيرينَ، ولَمْ تتَيَسَّرْ لهُمْ فُرصَةٌ للأكلِ.
فمَضَوْا في السَّفينَةِ إلَى مَوْضِعٍ خَلاءٍ مُنفَرِدينَ.”

Will you make your 2017 as exhausting as 2016...or will you simply answer His call "to go with Him all by yourself to a quiet place and get some rest"

Make this offer a DAILY habit...
Find your quiet time with Him And He will bless you to feed 5000 hungry souls!

يا ترى انت حاسس زيِّ ان السنة جريت بسرعة؟
يا ترى حاسس انك كنت فيها مشغول، تعبان، مطحون، مش لاحق و محتااااج أجازة و هدنة؟
مذاكرة، شغل، أولاد، بيت، مسؤوليات، خدمة، عيلة، ارتباطات...و ليستة ما لهاش نهاية؟
!أيوة...انت فعلاً محتاج (بريك) راحة

...يسوع بيدعوك النهاردة دعوة شخصية...نفس الدعوة اللي دعاها لتلاميذه
هو استقبلهم بعد ما أرسلهم يكرزوا و يشفوا باسمه
...راحوا يطوفوا في القرى و المدن يخدموا المنبوذ، المهمش، العيان و الجعان
 يسوع شافهم راجعين منهكين و قواهم قد خارت...فطلب منهم ينسحبوا في موضع خلوة معاه عشان "يستريحوا"
! ما أروعها دعوة

“واجتَمَعَ الرُّسُلُ إلَى يَسوعَ وأخبَروهُ بكُلِّ شَيءٍ، كُلِّ ما فعَلوا وكُلِّ ما عَلَّموا

يا تَرى حتسيب ٢٠١٧ تتعبك زي ٢٠١٦...ولا حتلبي الدعوة انك تجيله منفرد في خلوتك تأخد راحة و تجدد قوتك؟
!خلّي الدعوة دي بداية يومك...استريح فيه و هو حيرسلك تشبع خمسة آلاف

Who are You Waiting For This Christmas?

Last Christmas after receiving their gifts, we decided to face Our daughters with the "cruel" reality; Santa does not exist!

I can tell you that this finding reshaped their wait for Christmas this year. The list they wrote to Santa turned into a confident expectation for what their parents would offer them this year. Their anticipation is no longer based on what the man with the white beard would choose, but on the love and appreciation we show them through these simple wrapped boxes under the tree!
Amazing is the power of a confident expectation!

In the first 4 chapters of Mark the Evangelist, I was overwhelmed by the crowd that kept searching, expecting and following Jesus.
Every where He went, He found himself surrounded and almost "pushed" by the flow of hungry, tired, sick, and lonely souls seeking a relieving word, a healing touch or a comforting look from the Master...of miracles!
Read with me these amazing passages:

“EVERYONE in the town gathered at the door of that house (where Jesus was).” Mark‬ ‭1:33‬
“Later, Simon and his friends went to look for Jesus. They found him and said, “EVERYONE is looking for you!”” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:36-37‬ ‭ERV‬‬
“Yet the people still came to him from EVERYWHERE.” Mark‬ ‭1:45‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“They gathered in such large numbers that there was NO ROOM LEFT , not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.” Mark‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A LARGE crowd came to him, and he began to teach them.” Mark‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from CROWDING him. For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were PUSHING forward to touch him.” Mark‬ ‭3:9-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“Then Jesus entered a house, and again a CROWD gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.” Mark‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The CROWD that gathered around him was so LARGE that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the waterʼs edge.” Mark‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

All along these 4 chapters, countless miracles were performed...and great faith was shown!

Then Suddenly I faced for the first time in chapter 6 the word FEW...these FEW were the crowd that did not seek nor wait for Him in faith...

“He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a FEW sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.” Mark‬ ‭6:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Holy Spirit wanted to show us the amazing reward of a confident expectation in the first 4 chapters...and the lack of Grace received in chapter 6!

This Christmas, you and I are waiting to receive the new born King!
I invite you to think...which kind of crowd are you?
A crowd that welcomes in faith the Almighty King who came to walk amongst them...
Or a Crowd that lost faith receiving a God that seems so distant more and more every year!

Like my kids for their gifts, let's Make our wait this Christmas Different...
Let's Welcome the King in TRUE faith!

مستني مين النهاردة ؟
 "الكريسماس" الماضي و بعد أن تلقت بناتي الهدايا قررنا أن نواجههم بالحقيقة القاسية .. لا وجود ل "سانتا" !!!
وأخبركم بالتأكيد أن هذا الإكتشاف أعاد تشكيل "حالة" إنتظارهم في الكريسماس لهذا العام .
 فالقائمة التي كانوا يكتبونها ل سانتا "بتشكك" و إنتظار في العام الماضي تحولت الى "توقعات واثقة" للهدايا التي سيقدمها والديهم هذا العام .
 إن توقعهم لم يعد يستند على ما سيختاره الرجل ذه اللحية البيضاء بل توقعاتهم بثقة تستند على الحب و التقدير الذي نظهره لهم في هذه العلب الصغيرة المغلفة بأوراق الهدايا أسفل الشجرة !
كم هو رائع هذا التوقع الأكيد !
في الأربع إصحاحات لمرقس الإنجيلي ، أبهرتني الجموع التي ظلت تبحث و تتوقع و تتبع يسوع .
 في كل مكان يذهب اليه كان يجد نفسه محاطاً بل و مدفوعاً بطوفان النفوس الجائعة المتعبة المريضة الوحيدة ، في إنتظار كلمة محررة و لمسة شافية أو ربما نظرة كلها راحة من رب المعجزات !
إقرأ معي هذه الأجزاء الرائعة ..

“وَكَانَتِ ٱلْمَدِينَةُ كُلُّهَا مُجْتَمِعَةً عَلَى ٱلْبَابِ( باب البيت الذي كان فيه يسوع ) ."

‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬1 : 33
“فَتَبِعَهُ سِمْعَانُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُ. وَلَمَّا وَجَدُوهُ قَالُوا لَهُ: «إِنَّ ٱلْجَمِيعَ يَطْلُبُونَكَ».” ‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬١ : ٦٣،٧٣
“وَكَانُوا يَأْتُونَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ كُلِّ نَاحِيَةٍ.” ‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬ ١ : ٥٤
“وَلِلْوَقْتِ ٱجْتَمَعَ كَثِيرُونَ حَتَّى لَمْ يَعُدْ يَسَعُ وَلَا مَا حَوْلَ ٱلْبَابِ. فَكَانَ يُخَاطِبُهُمْ بِٱلْكَلِمَةِ.” ‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬٢ : ٢
“ثُمَّ خَرَجَ أَيْضًا إِلَى ٱلْبَحْرِ. وَأَتَى إِلَيْهِ كُلُّ ٱلْجَمْعِ فَعَلَّمَهُمْ.” ‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬٢ : ٣١
 “فَقَالَ لِتَلَامِيذِهِ أَنْ تُلَازِمَهُ سَفِينَةٌ صَغِيرَةٌ لِسَبَبِ ٱلْجَمْعِ، كَيْ لَا يَزْحَمُوهُ، لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ قَدْ شَفَى كَثِيرِينَ، حَتَّى وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِ لِيَلْمِسَهُ كُلُّ مَنْ فِيهِ دَاءٌ.” ‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬٣: ٩،٠١
“فَٱجْتَمَعَ أَيْضًا جَمْعٌ حَتَّى لَمْ يَقْدِرُوا وَلَا عَلَى أَكْلِ خُبْزٍ.” ‮ مَرْقُسَ‬٣ : ٢٠
 “وَٱبْتَدَأَ أَيْضًا يُعَلِّمُ عِنْدَ ٱلْبَحْرِ، فَٱجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ جَمْعٌ كَثِيرٌ حَتَّى إِنَّهُ دَخَلَ ٱلسَّفِينَةَ وَجَلَسَ عَلَى ٱلْبَحْرِ، وَٱلْجَمْعُ كُلُّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ ٱلْبَحْرِ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ.” ‮ مَرْقُسَ‬٤: ١

و خلال هذة الإصحاحات الأربعة ما لا يحصى من المعجزات قد تمت .. و إيمان عظيم قد أُظهر 

ثم.. و فجأة .. واجهتني في الإصحاح السادس كلمة " قليل"
وهذا الجمع القليل لم يطلب أو ينتظر بإيمان ..

 “وَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ هُنَاكَ وَلَا قُوَّةً وَاحِدَةً، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ وَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى مَرْضَى قَلِيلِينَ فَشَفَاهُمْ. وَتَعَجَّبَ مِنْ عَدَمِ إِيمَانِهِمْ. وَصَارَ يَطُوفُ ٱلْقُرَى ٱلْمُحِيطَةَ يُعَلِّمُ.”
‮‮مَرْقُسَ‬٦ : ٥ - ٦

 أراد الروح القدس أن يطلعنا على عظمة مكافأة التوقع الثابت الواثق في الإصحاحات الأربعة الأولى ، في مقابل النعمة القليلة جداً في الإصحاح السادس.
في عيد الميلاد هذا العام ، أنا و أنت ننتظر أن نستقبل الملك المولود!
أدعوك أن تفكر .. أي نوع من الجموع تكون ؟!
الجمع الذي سيرحب بإيمان و توقع بالملك المجيد الذي جاء ليسير بينهم ..
 أم أنت من الجمع القليل الذي فقد إيمانه متباعداً عن الله عاماً بعد عام و عيد ميلاد بعد عيد ميلاد !

مثل أولادي في إنتظار هداياهم ، فليكن إنتظارنا في هذا العام مختلفاً .
وليكن ترحيبنا بالملك في إيمان حقيقي !

Do you have “Something” to say?

Lets's be frank, I am sure you face chapters in the bible that do not seem to have something to touch you or reach you. These verses and chapters are always a challenge i can't explain, I just feel them out of place and out of touch with my current days. I then put my reading in front of HIM and ask for enlightenment, may be something tingles my heart or teases my thoughts!

Reading Acts 25 was one of these daunting and hard tasks! I struggled finding a message that touch me personally...until I hit the following verses:

“Then Agrippa said to Festus, “I would like TO HEAR the man myself.” “Tomorrow,” Festus replied, “you will hear him.”
So the next day Agrippa and [his sister] Bernice came with great pageantry, and they went into the AUDITORIUM accompanied by the military commanders and the prominent men of the city. At the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.”
‭‭ACTS‬ ‭25:22-23‬ ‭

Indeed…This is so relevant to our 21st century!
Social media and technology made it way easier for people to express their thoughts, ideas and beliefs. What used to happen only in “audience room/auditorium” is now taking place at the tip of your fingers and on bright screens reaching every inch of the globe. Just like Agrippa, the world around us is in constant watching/listening mode. Like it or not, We are surrounded by “Agrippas” hungry to know more about the message we bring.

Paul, the greatest missionary, led by the Holy Spirit did not take such opportunities lightly, he made sure that his words and, above all, his life were clear messages of hope, change, redemption and liberation found in His personal Redeemer!

100s of Agrippas surround you every day...
they want to hear what you have say…
Be ready to bring them the Good news...
And above all the path to follow His way!

عندك حاجة تقولها ؟

كثير ما بقابل آيات و يمكن اصحاحات من الكتاب المقدس أحس و كأنها" لا " تلمس قلبي و" لا" تخاطبني على الاطلاق!
بأبُص للآيات و الاصحاحات دي "بتحدي" :) و بالأخص لو ما لهاش تطبيق في حياتنا اليوميه !
عندما أواجه هذه الايات أضعها أمام الله في الصلاة
و أسأله " إستنارة " خاصة ، ربما معنى يلمس قلبي أو يستثير أفكاري !
و بالفعل ، و بينما أقرأ أعمال الرسل ٢٥ ، قابلتني إحدى تلك المهام " الآيات" الشاقة !

تعبت لأخرج منها رسالة تخاطبني ، صارعت مع الآيات طويلاً..حتى وقعت عيناي على تلك الآيات ..

“فَقَالَ أَغْرِيبَاسُ لِفَسْتُوسَ: «كُنْتُ أُرِيدُ أَنَا أَيْضًا أَنْ أَسْمَعَ ٱلرَّجُلَ». فَقَالَ: «غَدًا تَسْمَعُهُ». فَفِي ٱلْغَدِ لَمَّا جَاءَ أَغْرِيبَاسُ وَبَرْنِيكِي ( أخته ) فِي ٱحْتِفَالٍ عَظِيمٍ، وَدَخَلَا إِلَى دَارِ ٱلِٱسْتِمَاعِ مَعَ ٱلْأُمَرَاءِ وَرِجَالِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ ٱلْمُقَدَّمِينَ، أَمَرَ فَسْتُوسُ فَأُتِيَ بِبُولُسَ.”
‮‮أَعْمَالُ ٱلرُّسُلِ‬ ‭25:22-23‬ ‭

بصراحة .. أجد أن ما حدث قريب جداً من واقعنا الحالي في القرن الواحد و العشرين !
وسائل التواصل الإجتماعي جعلت الأمر أسهل كثيراً أن يعبر الناس عن أفكارهم و آراءهم و معتقداتهم .
ما كان في العادة يقال في " دار الإستماع " أصبح الآن يقال و يُكتب في متناول " أطراف أصابعك " على الشاشات الساطعة و يصل الى كل "شبر " من الكرة الارضية !

صدقوني، تماماً مثل أغريباس ، العالم من حولنا في حالة ترقب / وإنصات!
و سواء أعجبك هذا أو لم يعجبك فنحن محاطين ب
" أغريباس " جائعين لمعرفة الرسالة التي نحملها !

بولس ، الرسول العظيم ، مسوقاً من الروح القدس ، لم يتهاون مع تلك الفرص العظيمة ، بل تأكد من أن الكلمات التي يحملها بل و بالأكثر حياته ذاتها هي رسالة من الامل و التغيير ، من الفداء و التحرر ، تلك التي وجدها في المسيح الذي حرر بولس نفسه .

مئات من " أغريباس " يحيطون بك كل يوم ..
ينتظرون لسماع ما تقول ..
فكن مستعداً لتقديم تلك " الاخبار السارة "..
ولتكن حياتك واضحة..على الطريق !

Behind Closed Doors

On my walk last week in Giethoorn, a small town known as the Dutch Venice, I came across this beautiful scene, this slightly open gate, the narrow path in the garden leading beyond my sight...I couldn't resist capturing it on camera. Don't you agree with me that there is something mystical about doors specially the ones left slightly open...and about pathways with out-of-sight endings! They are both always intriguing and do send to our minds a call to explore. Yet, there is always this fear of the unknown holding us back from opening, entering and walking through. Think about your first visit to a friend's place, you probably follow the instructions given to you blindly. Your friend, over the phone usually, might ask you to drive in dark streets, walk in small alleys, take stairs and open some gates and doors to reach their place-specially if they live in one of the new established areas of town. You will have the courage to move on and boldly explore what is beyond these gates and hidden pathways...only because you TRUST the one guiding you. Alone, specially at night, you wouldn't even dare opening one of these doors in fear of what would wait for you on the inside.

What a great comfort we have on our path of life when we know which door to open and to where it would lead...which path to cross and which destination you reach. It has nothing to do with the looks of the door or the beauty of the way...it just solely relies on the One calling you and giving you guidance...the One reassuring that this is The way. You trust The person...not the door nor the road as both always lead to the unknown.

“Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.” John‬ ‭10:7, 9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“فقالَ لهُمْ يَسوعُ أيضًا: «الحَقَّ الحَقَّ أقولُ لكُمْ: إنّي أنا بابُ الخِرافِ. أنا هو البابُ. إنْ دَخَلَ بي أحَدٌ فيَخلُصُ ويَدخُلُ ويَخرُجُ ويَجِدُ مَرعًى.”

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“قالَ لهُ يَسوعُ: «أنا هو الطَّريقُ والحَقُّ والحياةُ. ليس أحَدٌ يأتي إلَى الآبِ إلّا بي.”

Every new day in our lives is a new closed door...a new pathway! Some days the road might be green as a spring field or just harsh as a valley of death. Do not fear as your trust relies not on what your eyes can see but on The One who called you and told you He is The Gate and The Way!

..خلف الأبواب المواربة 

في أثناء زيارتي ل

 ،  Giethoorn، مدينة صغيرة معروفة ب " ڤينيسيا الهولندية " الأسبوع الماضي، مررت إلى جوار هذا المشهد الرائع في جماله ولم أستطيع مقاومة تصويره 

ألا تتفقون معي إن هناك شئ ما غامض في تلك الأبواب ، بالأخص التي تترك نصف مفتوحة ( مواربة ) ..و تلك الممرات التي لا ترى نهايتها
!كلاهما دائماً جذاب، وكأنما يرسلان إلى عقولنا دعوة للإستكشاف
ومع هذا ، هناك الخوف من المجهول، نخاف من طريق لا نرى نهايته و من باب مفتوح لا نعرف أين يقودنا ، الخوف يمسكنا أن نفتح الباب و نعبر و نمشي
فكر أيضاً في زيارة لبيت صديق لأول مرة (خاصة لو يسكن أحد المدن الجديدة ) تجدك تتبع توجيهاته دون أن ترى مسبقاً إلى أين يوجهك ، على الهاتف يقودك ربما في شوارع مظلمة ، ربما ممرات ضيقة ، تصعد سلالم و ربما تفتح بعض البوابات و الأبواب ، كل هذا لكي تصل اليه
!وأنت تجد الشجاعة لكي تتقدم بجرأة و تكتشف ما خلف البوابات و ما تخفيه الممرات .. فقط لأنك " تثق " في الصديق الذي يقودك
!!ماذا لو كنت وحدك ، و ليلاً حيث الظلام ، بالتأكيد لن تجرؤ على فتح أحد تلك الأبواب خوفاً مما ينتظرك خلفها 

ما أعظمالارتياح الذي يصاحبنا في دروب الحياة عندما ندرك أي الأبواب نفتح و إلى أين ستقودنا .. أي الممرات نعبر و أي وجهة سنصل
و الأمر لا علاقة له بشكل الأبواب و لا بجمال الطريق
و إنما فقط تعتمد على من "يدعوك" و " يقودك ".. الذي يضمن لك و يؤكد " هذا هو الطريق ".. أنت تضع ثقتك في الشخص.. لا في الباب و لا في الطريق فكلاهما يقودك الى المجهول 

“فَقَالَ لَهُمْ يَسُوعُ أَيْضًا: «ٱلْحَقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ: إِنِّي أَنَا بَابُ ٱلْخِرَافِ. أَنَا هُوَ ٱلْبَابُ. إِنْ دَخَلَ بِي أَحَدٌ فَيَخْلُصُ وَيَدْخُلُ وَيَخْرُجُ وَيَجِدُ مَرْعًى.”‮‮ يُوحَنَّا‬ ‭10:7, 9‬ ‭

“قَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «أَنَا هُوَ ٱلطَّرِيقُ وَٱلْحَقُّ وَٱلْحَيَاةُ. لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَأْتِي إِلَى ٱلْآبِ إِلَّا بِي.” يُوحَنَّا‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭

!إذن ، كل يوم جديد في حياتنا هو باب مغلق و طريق جديد
بعض الأيام ، سيكون الطريق أخضراً كحقول الربيع ، و بعضها قاسٍ كوادي الموت

!لا تخف ، فثقتك لا تعتمد على ما تراه عيناك بل على من دعاك و قال أنا هو الباب و الطريق
