Back to School Worry List!


I believe all mothers´ worry these days is focused on one thing: Back to School. You surely agree with me that one of the Big items on their “worry list” is Classmates!
“So tell me dear who is with you in class? Who is sitting next to you, behind you, in front? Oh really, you have to change your seat, he is a naughty boy, he won’t let you sit in peace. Oh, this is quite a troublesome group, I have to change your seat or even your class!”
That´s exactly why some mothers find their own ways to pre-assign their kids into a certain class, to ensure the right “Entourage and Ambiance” to success in this new year. They know how bad habits are so easy to cling, stick and become part of their kids behaviour…just by sitting around the wrong group of classmates.
Wish we were so keen ourselves in choosing our Life´s “classmates”…Negative classmates will pull you down, Fearful ones will get their fear in you, Active ones will get you moving with them…not only people but even content, what you read, see and accept your eyes to feed upon will end up shaping your thoughts, behaviour and will STICK to you!

David the psalmist knew this fact and consciously departed from acts or classmates that would grasp hold of him and keep him off track:
“I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.”
Psalm 101:3 AMP
“لا أضَعُ قُدّامَ عَينَيَّ أمرًا رَديئًا. عَمَلَ الزَّيَغانِ أبغَضتُ. لا يَلصَقُ بي.”

I call that today we review in prayer and in light of God´s grace which class are we attending? What habits are clinging to ourselves? Are we letting our eyes and hearts be fed whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— to think about such things (Philippians 4:8)

Roaring Seas

Roaring seas surrounding ships don’t make them sink…but a hole as small as a coin can be the beginning of the end! So for the temptations of this world, they surround you, attack you but shall not find a hole in the wall of your heart!
Guard your hearts, Rule your spirit, Don't let temptations of the world conquer you!
Go down on your knees and build the wall in prayer because...

The Jar Opener

I love it when the kids prepare everything on their breakfast table, bread, butter, milk, plates, and come to me holding the Jam jar to open it for them. Funny enough, they don’t even approach Aline standing next to them in the kitchen, but run to me wherever in the house I might be. They have no doubt whatsoever that I will able to open this totally stuck clogged Jar lid…obviously they prepared the table except for this jar! That´s the kind of trust that putsme to do all I can to open it

These little creatures´ trust reminded me of that man with leprosy (miracle stated in Matthew, Mark and Luke) who came to Jesus on his knees not only with full trust in His power and reign over his sickness, shame and humiliation…but more specifically came with a heart surrendering to His will.

“And a leper came to Him, begging Him on his knees and saying to Him, If You are willing, You are able to make me clean. And being moved with pity and sympathy, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I am willing; be made clean!” Mark 1:40-41 AMP
“فأتَى إليهِ أبرَصُ يَطلُبُ إليهِ جاثيًا وقائلًا لهُ: «إنْ أرَدتَ تقدِرْ أنْ تُطَهِّرَني». فتحَنَّنَ يَسوعُ ومَدَّ يَدَهُ ولَمَسَهُ وقالَ لهُ: «أُريدُ، فاطهُرْ!».” مَرقُسَ 1:40-41 

Oh Heavenly Father, how many times in our prayers we approach Your Grace lacking this kind trust and faith. We approach You in doubts…deep down we are not sure You really can make it happen. Let me pray with Jeremiah “There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You”
(Jeremiah 32:17), sing with David “Great is our Lord, and abundant in His strength” (Psalm 147:5), confirm with Abraham that what “You had promised You are also able to perform” (Romans 4:21)…and Finally scream out loud with the doubting father of the possessed son “Lord, I do believe…HELP my unbelief (help my grow my faith)” (Mark 9:24)…In Jesus name I pray to live your Will, AMEN!

To Think Less of Ourselves OR To Think of Ourselves Less...

C.S. Lewis once said that as Christians we are not called to think less of ourselves but to think of ourselves less. 
Christ speaks similarly in Matthew 20. When we prioritize other people above ourselves it can help us to get out of the quicksand of our own self pity and help us to realize that we are not alone in our suffering. Also, as we try to lift up others by applying God’s promises to their lives, we often find ourselves being sustained. 

Therefore, when we purposefully serve, we talk about it being a greater ministry to us than to those that we served.
