Hand-made!

Watching couple of days ago a documentary about Pottery in Egypt, the interviewer asked the potter the following intimidating question:

"Aren't you afraid Technology and mass production gets you out of business ya osta Naser?"
With a confident smile on his face, the potter replied this brilliant answer:
"It is the total opposite! It is thanks to this mass production of endless copies that clients now truly embrace and Value the hand-made unique piece of any art I create!"
I specially remember his following statement: “People buy my hand-made pots because they want to see my FINGERPRINTS on them and the traces of my SWEAT creating them”

In Jeremiah 18, we read this following captivating story
“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.”
‭‭“Then the word of the LORD came to me. He said, “Can I not do with you, as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand.”

Thank you Lord for Choosing the Potter house as an Image for your Work on Us...
The Potter can only work on one vessel at a time on his wheel...
one vessel that He crafts with full love and attention...
You and I are unique pieces created by the Almighty Potter…
Let His fingerprints show on you…
and Let us stop the destructive journey of becoming copies!

You are created unique...by a Loving Potter...ask Him and Only Him to shape you as seemed best in His Eyes!

صناعة .. يدوية !
من يومين كنت بتفرج على واحد من الافلام التسجيلية عن صناعة الفخار في مصر، (اللينك في أول كومنت)
وسأل المذيع بجراءة: مش خايف يا أسطى ناصر إن التكنولوچيا وإنتاج المصانع يغطى على الإنتاج بتاعكم؟

فجاوب الاسطى ناصر على السؤال إجابة عبقرية كلها ثقة :
بالعكس تماماً! أنا بشكر التكنولوچيا والمصانع اللي بتنتج أعداد كبيرة من النسخ إنها خليت المشتري يتمسك بينا ويقدر قيمة الحاجات اليدوية الفريدة اللي بنعملها!

تمهل صانع الفخار قليلاً ثم أكمل ولن أنسى أبداً ما قاله وقتها:

" الناس تشتري الاواني الفخار التي أصنعها بيدي لانهم يريدون ان يروا " بصمات أصابعي" عليها، ويشعرون آثار العرق وأنا أصنعها."

وفي أرميا ١٨ نقرأ هذه القصة الجذابة ،
“ٱلْكَلَامُ ٱلَّذِي صَارَ إِلَى إِرْمِيَا مِنْ قِبَلِ ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلًا:
«قُمِ ٱنْزِلْ إِلَى بَيْتِ ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ وَهُنَاكَ أُسْمِعُكَ كَلَامِي».
فَنَزَلْتُ إِلَى بَيْتِ ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ، وَإِذَا هُوَ يَصْنَعُ عَمَلًا عَلَى ٱلدُّولَابِ. فَفَسَدَ ٱلْوِعَاءُ ٱلَّذِي كَانَ يَصْنَعُهُ مِنَ ٱلطِّينِ بِيَدِ ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ،
فَعَادَ وَعَمِلَهُ وِعَاءً آخَرَ كَمَا حَسُنَ فِي عَيْنَيِ ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ أَنْ يَصْنَعَهُ.
فَصَارَ إِلَيَّ كَلَامُ ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلًا: «أَمَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَصْنَعَ بِكُمْ كَهَذَا ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ يَا بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ؟ هُوَذَا كَٱلطِّينِ بِيَدِ ٱلْفَخَّارِيِّ أَنْتُمْ هَكَذَا بِيَدِي يَا بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ.”

أشكرك يا إلهي لأنك قد إخترت بيت الفخاري ليكون صورة لعملك فينا..
فالفخاري ينفرد بآنية واحدة على دولابه في كل مرة ، يشكل فيها بكل حبه وإهتمامه..
أنا وأنت قطع فريدة أبدع في خلقتها الفخاري الأعظم،
فلنترك "بصمات أصابعه" تتجلى (تظهر) فينا،
ولنتوقف عن هذه الرحلة المدمرة بحثاً لجعل من أنفسنا نسخاً لآخرين!
أنت آنية "فريدة" خلقتها يد فخاري مُحِب،
فإسأله ، هو فقط ، ليشكلك .. كما يحسن في عينيه!

What if God asks you today “What do you want?”

During his walk in town, two men saw Jesus passing by and decided following him after having heard a lot about this “Lamb of God”.
When Jesus saw them following him he asked them:

“What do you seek?” John 1:38

They replied with words I truly did not expect.They answered him with a QUESTION…

They could have asked for ANYTHING they want but they knew what they want the MOST is there in Jesus' answer to that question!

They replied back: “Rabbi (or teacher), Where are you staying?” Wow…What a bold move!

The disciples did not change the world being content with a sidewalk talk only! They wanted more of Him…They were true seekers of a relationship.

Our world needs more seekers…more depth…more hunger for new levels in everything!
With the convenience at finger tips, we just became friends with the “Good enough”…companions to the “surface of anything”. We watch pictures in fractions of a second, we listen to half songs and rarely have patience to continue a 3 minutes video!

Even Our relation with God became plagued with this mediocrity…we lost passion for more…passion for a time well invested. Sidewalk talks became the norm…if they even exist!

Lord…Give me this Hunger..Give this bold heart..Let me ask you for MORE OF YOU…Not just More of all BUT YOU!
Let your Spirit ignite this Thirst that only your Waters Quench…for in meeting you, our hearts will flood back this love to a world needing it more and more everyday!

Ask for more of Him and believe me He will give you the same wonder-FULL answer He gave to the disciples: 
“Come with me and you will see.”
So the two men went with him. They saw the place where he was staying, and they stayed there with him that day.” John‬ ‭1:39‬ ‭ERV‬‬

ماذا لو كان سؤال الله لك اليوم هو .. " ماذا تريد ؟"

في أثناء مرور يسوع بالمدينة ، رآه رجلان فقررا أن يتبعانه بعدما سمعا عنه شهادة أنه " حمل الله"
وعندما رآهما يسوع يتبعانه إلتفت اليهما وسألهما هذا السؤال الهام
«مَاذَا تَطْلُبَانِ؟». 

 فأجاباه بإجابة لم أتوقعها على الإطلاق،

كان من الممكن والمتوقع أن يطلبا أي شئ يرغبان فيه، ولكنهما ادركا ما يريدان بالأكثر
لقد أجاباه هم أيضاً بسؤال
وكانت رغبتهما الحقيقية وشوق قلباهما تختفي في إجابة يسوع.
فَقَالَا: «رَبِّي» ٱلَّذِي تَفْسِيرُهُ: يَا مُعَلِّمُ. «أَيْنَ تَمْكُثُ؟»
ما أعجب هذا السؤال
فالتلاميذ لم يغيرا العالم بالإستكفاء بحوار سريع معه
! لقد ارادوا "الاكثر" منه، "الاستكثار" منه، لقد كانا يسعيان لعلاقة تقوم على " البقاء معه"

!ويحتاج عالمنا الى مثل هؤلا الباحثين الساعين بأكثر تعمق وأشد جوع نحو مستويات جديدة في كل شئ

..وفي حياتنا ، وبعدما أصبح أي شئ متاح بين أصابعنا تحولنا الى أصدقاء لمفهوم " الكفاية"
.مصاحبين " لسطحيات الأمور"
 ننظر الى الصور في أقل من الثانية، نستمع الى نصف الاغنية وبصعوبة نصبر لمشاهدة ما لا يزيد عن ثلاث دقائق من أي ڤيديو!
حتى علاقتنا مع الله ( وبالأخص علاقتنا مع الله)
أصابها هذا الوباء الردئ، لقد فقدنا كل شغف في المزيد، وكل رغبة في إستثمار الوقت كما يجب
 لقد أصبح ذلك الحوار السريع عادياً وطبيعياً ( إن وجد أصلاً

..ربي
إعطني هذا الجوع، هذا القلب المتجرئ
دعني أطلب "الاكثر " منك
.وليس الأكثر من كل شئ "ماعدا أنت"
..ليت روحك يشعل هذا العطش الذي لا يطفئه سوى مياهك،
!لأنه في لقاءك ، تمتلئ قلوبنا بالحب وتفيض به الى عالم في حاجة شديدة اليه كل يوم
: إسأل المزيد منه وثق انه سيجيبك بتلك الاجابة العجيبة الكاملة التي أجاب بها تلاميذه 

“فَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «تَعَالَيَا وَٱنْظُرَا». فَأَتَيَا وَنَظَرَا أَيْنَ كَانَ يَمْكُثُ، وَمَكَثَا عِنْدَهُ ذَلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ. وَكَانَ نَحْوَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ ٱلْعَاشِرَةِ.”

فراعنة و بطولة و تاريخ

النهاردة تبدأ أول ماتشاتنا في كأس أفريقيا! كله خايف و قلقان من النتيجة...شيء طبيعي جداً
 لي صديق عزيز غاوي تحليلات و واقعية، عمل حاجة بسيطة عشان يشجع نفسه...قرر يراجع الماضي عشان يمكن نكون "نسينا" و منه يقدر يتخيل نتيجة المستقبل. اكتشف ان آخر ماتش خسرناه في بطولة أفريقيا كان من ١٣ سنة (من ٢٠ ماتش
! الصراحة دبت فيَّ روح الثقة...حسّيت ان في أمل...حتى لو كان مجرد مبني على تاريخ بنسترجعه

...أحب أقولكم أن يسوع في محبته عارف خوفنا و "ضعف ذاكرتنا" الروحية
.."عارف اننا بننسى و بنرجع نخاف و نسأل "أين أنت يا الله؟ لماذا تحجب وجهك عني
... التلاميذ لما ركبوا المركب بعد معجزة إشباع الأربعة آلاف بسبعة أرغفة...قلقوا لان ما كانش معاهم أكل...خافوا يجوعوا
... هنا من المرات القليلة اللي شفت فيها يسوع بيحتد عليهم

“ففَكَّروا قائلينَ بَعضُهُمْ لبَعضٍ: «ليس عِندَنا خُبزٌ». فعَلِمَ يَسوعُ
وقالَ لهُمْ: «لماذا تُفَكِّرونَ أنْ ليس عِندَكُمْ خُبزٌ؟ ألا تشعُرونَ بَعدُ ولا تفهَمونَ؟ أحتَّى الآنَ قُلوبُكُمْ غَليظَةٌ؟ ألكُمْ أعيُنٌ ولا تُبصِرونَ، ولكُمْ آذانٌ ولا تسمَعونَ، ولا تذكُرونَ؟
حينَ كسَّرتُ الأرغِفَةَ الخَمسَةَ للخَمسَةِ الآلافِ، كمْ قُفَّةً مَملوَّةً كِسَرًا رَفَعتُم؟». قالوا لهُ: «اثنَتَيْ عَشرَةَ».
«وحينَ السَّبعَةِ للأربَعَةِ الآلافِ، كمْ سلَّ كِسَرٍ مَملوًّا رَفَعتُم؟». قالوا: «سبعَةً».

لما تخاف، أطلب من الروح القدس جواك يفكرك...صدقني هو دوره يفكرك

“وأمّا المُعَزّي، الرّوحُ القُدُسُ، الّذي سيُرسِلُهُ الآبُ باسمي، فهو يُعَلِّمُكُمْ كُلَّ شَيءٍ، ويُذَكِّرُكُمْ بكُلِّ ما قُلتُهُ لكُمْ.”

We Are Not Made of Sugar!

To live in the Netherlands is to accept its weather! "217 rainy days per year" does not give you many options...you have to adapt. I was once talking with a colleague sharing my wonder how they are very cool and ok about Raining, specially when I see them all biking around the city under pouring rain and still act as if they are not soaking wet till their bones. I told him back home in Cairo once it starts "drizzling" people run, hide and cover their heads with whatever they are holding...it is just Panic everywhere!

He gave me a simple answer:
"Why would we fear rain and water...We are NOT made of SUGAR! We won't melt in the rain for sure!"

Wow...

Couldn't help but remembering Jesus words to His disciples in John 17:
“I have given them your teaching. And the world has hated them, because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world. “I am not asking you to take them out of the world. But I am asking that you keep them safe from the Evil One. They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.”

“أنا قد أعطَيتُهُمْ كلامَكَ، والعالَمُ أبغَضَهُمْ لأنَّهُمْ لَيسوا مِنَ العالَمِ، كما أنّي أنا لَستُ مِنَ العالَمِ، لَستُ أسألُ أنْ تأخُذَهُمْ مِنَ العالَمِ بل أنْ تحفَظَهُمْ مِنَ الشِّرّيرِ. لَيسوا مِنَ العالَمِ كما أنّي أنا لَستُ مِنَ العالَمِ.”

Why would we fear this world if we do not belong to this world? We are not made of this world to fear its power and control..but we (our souls) belong to a different higher world...our souls belong to The Heavenly kingdom! My heart moves when I meet those people facing atrocities, financial problems, injustice, health problems and still they keep smiling knowing that God is Good all the way! These are the ones that truly show that they are not made of sugar!

No matter how tough this world will treat them, they know they belong somewhere else!

Did you ever think what are you made of? I pray that you and I don't melt at the first drop of rain!

تعيش في هولندا يعني تقبل طقسها! ٢١٧٧ يوم في السنة مطرة...يعني ما عندكش اختيار غير انك تتعايش مع الواقع دة.
 كنت بعّبر لزميلي في المكتب عن انبهاري بيهم كشعب في تأقلمهم بكل بساطة و سلاسة مع المطر بالأخص لما بأشوفهم وسط اشدها سيول راكبين عجلهم عادي حتي لو مبلولين لأعمق قطعة في لبسهم!! قولتله عندنا في مصر لو ندعت الناس بتجري و تستخبى و تغطي راسها بأي حاجة حتى لو كان جورنال!
رد علىّ ببرود هولندي اصيل:
"نخاف من المطر ليه؟ احنا مش سكر...مش حندوب في المياة...كلها كام دقيقة و الهدوم تنشف"

كلامه فكرني بكلام يسوع للتلاميذ في يوحنا

!فعلاً ليه بنخاف من العالم لو احنا مش من العالم...لو احنا مش معمولين من العالم
احنا (أرواحنا) مكاننا عالم تاني...عالم سماوي ورثناه من آب حنان.
 قلبي بيتعزي و بيتشجع لما اقابل ناس طاحنها "العالم" من آلام مرضية، لضيقات مادية، اضطهادات و تجارب و لكن لسة ماسكة في ضحكتها و عايشة على رجاء و ايمان ثابت! هي الناس دي اللي تقدر تقول في وش مطر الحياة " احنا مش سكر...احنا مصنوعين من صخر الدهور"

"!صلاتي النهاردة اني انا و انت ما ندوبش مع أول "قطرة ندى"
