First Mirror Invented!

- Farida: Pa, do you know who invented the very first mirror used on earth?
- Me: mmm…interesting question! May be the pharaohs when they used Silver and bronze?
- No…Much older! and by the way it is still there till our days? Farida replies with a confident smile!
- Impossible..it can not sustain all that time! Rust, erosion…
- She cut my words and pointed with her finger: Here it is!
And she pointed to the surface of the lake…something so obvious my complex scientific encyclopedic searching approach failed to see.
- Pa It is the water. God gave our ancestors the chance to see their reflection from day one.

This mirror reflecting an image is nature´s demonstration to what God meant by being creating you and me in His image (Genesis 1:27). It is in the stillness and peacefulness of water that we see an almost exact reflection of the scene. But this mirror, with just one stone thrown into it, starts rippling, waving and losing the image once reflected! These stones can take many forms in life: aggression, hate, envy, and afflictions thrown by people into your life! By the bigger stones are the ones we throw ourselves in our hearts: fear, negativity, lust, lies, treason, etc. These are the stones that make bigger waves and disturb the image you are reflecting even more.

Do not be the first to cast a stone into your Lake! Why would you, with your hands, disturb this beautiful reflection you were created to show?! Bring all your stones at His feet everyday and he will carry them away. They are better in His hands than in the bottom of your lake!

“So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to—the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God's likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and holy.”
Ephesians 4:22-24

!أول مرايا في التاريخ 

فريده : بابا ، تعرف مين أول واحد إخترع المرايا ؟
.أنا : اممم .. سؤال كويس ! ممكن يكون الفراعنه؟ ، الفراعنه إستخدموا الفضه و البرونز
 .فريدة ( بإبتسامه كلها ثقة ) : لأ لأ .. قبل كده بكتييير .. و على فكرة .. هي لسه موجوده لغاية دلوقتي
، ..أنا ( بإستغراب ) : مستحيل .. أكيد صديت ، اتفتفتت
!فريدة بتقاطع كلامي : بص .. آدي المرايا .. و شاورت قُدّامها
في منتهى الوضوح كان سطح البحيرة القريبة الذي عجزت موسوعتي العلميه عن ان تلاحظه يلمع و تنعكس عليه صورة ما حوله 

فريدة : المايه ..! ربنا إدى للناس فرصة انهم يشوفوا صورتهم عليها من اول يوم

!إنعكاس صورتنا على سطح المياة هو طريقة تعبير الطبيعة عن قصد الله بكلامه أنه قد خلقنا أنا و أنت .. على صورته
!سكون المياة و سلامها يعطينا تلك الصورة العظيمة
ولكن ..و مع أول حجر يلقى في تلك البحيرة الساكنه و يكسر سلامها ، تنتشر الموجات و تهتز الصورة التي يوماً ! إنعكست بكل وضوح عليها 

..ولهذه الاحجار أشكال متعددة في حياتنا
.العدوانية ، الكراهية ، الغيرة .. و كل ما يؤثر به الناس عليك ألم
بينما الاحجار الاكبر ، التي لها التأثير الأسوأ ، التي تشوه بالاكثر تلك الصورة الاولى المنعكسة على السطح الرائق هي تلك الاحجار التي نلقيها نحن بأنفسنا 

 !الخوف و السلبيه و الشهوات و الكذب و الخيانه

!تلك أمواجها أعنف و أعمق 

!لا تكن أول من يلقي بحجر في بحيرتك ! لماذا تسارع بتشويه صورتك ؟
! لماذا و بيديك تكسر تلك الصورة الجميلة التي خلقت لتظهرها
!بدلاً من ذلك .. أحضر تلك الاحجار عند أقدامه كل يوم ، تأكد أنه سيلقي بها بعيداً
 .أفضل أن تكون الاحجار بين يديه من أن تتركها ترسب في قاع حياتك

“أنْ تخلَعوا مِنْ جِهَةِ التَّصَرُّفِ السّابِقِ الإنسانَ العتِيقَ الفاسِدَ بحَسَبِ شَهَواتِ الغُرورِ، وتَتَجَدَّدوا بروحِ ذِهنِكُمْ، وتَلبَسوا الإنسانَ الجديدَ المَخلوقَ بحَسَبِ اللهِ (على صورته) في البِرِّ وقَداسَةِ الحَقِّ.”

Life out of No life

I love how Spring teaches us hope in a better future to come...faith that what seemed dead in winter will once again shine life and bring colors to naked harsh branches...sticks of wood that seem life-less are now pushing out for our eyes to see the beauty that has been prepared within!

With Spring comes life, with Spring comes Resurrection from all the dead areas in our lives...from Spring comes a cry of HOPE where The one sitting on the throne said, 

“Look, I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.” Revelation 21:5

احب حين يحكي الربيع عن الايمان بأن ما يبدو ميتاً جافاً شتوياً ، سوف .. و مرة أخرى يشرق حياة .. يملأ الفروع العارية ألواناً
احب حين تتفجر الأغصان بالحياة .. تلك الاخشاب المهملة تتفجر جمالاً .. جمالاً اخفته الاغصان شتاء بأكمله في داخلها
  .. بالربيع تولد الحياة ، القيامة ، صرخة الأمل

“My” Piano Lesson

In our family, I am the one handling the music side of studying and this covers primarily practicing and securing that the piano homework of my kids is done. At least I believe I am getting the fun side of studies smile emoticon I enjoy it all until we reach THAT moment of frustration when Farida looks at the sheet of music, tries to play it over and over again but gets stuck…her patience gets thinner and tolerance to try again diminishes…she gets angry, shouts at the piano:
“That´s it…I just can’t do it…I just CAN´T”
“But Farida you just played this piece perfectly few minutes ago…you did and you can” I encourage her back
“I know but I can’t try anymore”
“That´s exactly why I am sitting here, next to you, to help you…Because I believe you can…I saw you doing it”
It is indeed frustrating to me seeing Farida just dropping it and giving up! I know perfectly she knows this sheet of music and at that specific moment I just realise all she needs is support and guidance reminding her how special and competent she is.

This is exactly what I personally need when I face trials of life, when I see myself going down the dark path and incapable of picking myself up, change the direction of my heart and move steadily towards the greater plan set before me. Repentance needs courage, needs guidance, needs someone to remind you that you Can not accept giving up, because you have the Greatest instructor by your side…or closer…within you…reminding you of these words:

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13
“أستَطيعُ كُلَّ شَيءٍ في المَسيحِ الّذي يُقَوّيني.”

What a Great Instructor we have…Don't give up on your life´s Piano Lesson…He already knows you Can make of your days the best piece of music for this world to enjoy!

في عائلتي .. انا المسئول عن الجانب الموسيقي، متابعة التدريبات ، التأكد من ان البنات قد قاموا ب "الواجبات الموسيقيه" كما يجب .

(و( اظنني اخترت لنفسي الجانب المرح من تعليم البنات 

smile emoticon:تسير الامور كما اتوقعها واستمتع جداً بهذا الدور الذي اقوم به حتى نصل الى تلك اللحظه الصعبة في اي تدريب
" الاحباط " frustration ، اراها حين تبدأ فريده في قراءه النوتة الموسيقيه و اعادة عزفها مرة تلو الاخرى ، وفي كل مرة تتعثر و تخطئ وتعاود فتتعثر ، فتخطئ .. اراقب صبرها ينفذ و قدرتها على الاستمرار و المثابره تتضاءل ( تقل ) ، فتغضب و تثور و تصرخ في الپيانو .." خلاص كده .. انا مش هعرف اعزفها .. خلاص .. انا مش هعرف
:وهنا يأتي دوري الصعب و يبدأ الحوار الهام
.انا مشجعاً واثقاً : لكن انتي لسه مخلصاها و عزفتيها كويس جداً من شويه صغيرين ، انتي قدرتي تعزفيها
.فريدة : انا عارفه ، لكن خلاص مبقتش اقدر تاني
انا : علشان كده انا قاعد جنبك دلوقتي ، علشان اشجعك لأني متأكد انك تقدري ، انا شفتك بتعزفيها مرة يبقى هتقدري تعزفيها تاني
مؤلم و محبط لي ايضاً ان ارى فريده تتخلى عن المحاولة و تقترب من اليأس ، رغم اني متأكد انها تستطيع و قد قامت فعلاً بذلك ، لذا يكون دوري  الاساسي ان ابقى الي جوارها مشجعاً ومرشداً . أهمس لها انها متميزه جداً واذكرها مكرراً انها مثابرة قادرة على تحقيق هدفها الصغير 

!لأن هذا هو ما أحتاجه شخصياً في مواجهة تجارب وضعفات الحياه
عندما ارى نفسي أنحدر في ممرات الحياه الخانقة المظلمة ولا استطيع ان استجمع نفسي و قوتي ، ولا استطيع ان اغير اتجاه قلبي لأستكمل مسيري ! !نحو هدفي الاعظم في الحياه
..التوبه تحتاج قوة و شجاعة
تحتاج من يذكرني دائماً ، انك لا يمكنني ان أتقبل اليأس حلاً فأستسلم له، لا يمكنني لأن لي المعلم الاعظم ، الى جواري بل أقرب من ذلك ، انه بداخلي .. يذكرني كلما امتلكني الاحباط .. انني 

“أَسْتَطِيعُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فِي ٱلْمَسِيحِ ٱلَّذِي يُقَوِّينِي.”

..فلا نفشل ابداً في " دروس الپيانو " التي تخصنا
.لأنه يعلم اننا نستطيع ان نجعل من ايامنا مقطوعات رائعه نسعد بها الآخرين

A Walk…in Total Darkness!

Leila: Last night I woke in the middle of the night and went to the toilet…you were all asleep and it was totally dark.

Me: and all ok Leila?
Leila: Yes, all fine. Don´t worry! You know I found a nice trick to move around the house when the light is off. You wanna know my secret?
Me: Sure!
Leila: I just stretch my arm forward, walk slowly, close my eyes…and here is the trick: I RECALL how the house looked like when the light was still on! I see then everything clear in mind and move based on my memory…it WORKS! You should try it next time…

Not a bad trick…Leila definitely HAS a point! She reminded me of one of the basic lessons of faith: In your DARK HOURS of life, close your eyes, and recall the days Your heavenly Father held your hand and guided through what seemed an endless path of pain, fear, anxiety and Darkness! Your memory will NOT paint imaginary stories but confirm a Reality you have EXPERIENCED yourself…

God knew Moses and the people can fall into fear again, that´s why He asked him to RECALL what He has done:

“You may say to yourselves, “These nations are stronger than we are. How can we drive them out?” But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt. You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.” Deuteronomy 7:17-19

انا: طيب كله كان كويس ؟؟
ليلة : جداً ، متقلقش ، اصل انا اكتشفت حيله كويسه علشان اتحرك في البيت لما الدنيا تكون ضلمة ، تعرف عملت ايه ؟؟
!!انا : عملتي ايه؟
ليلة : غمضت عينايا و مديت ايديا قدامي و مشيت بشويش.. و اول ما غمضت رحت على طول افتكرت شكل البيت لما النور كان منور ، كل حاجه كانت باينه كأني شايفاها ، و مشيت زي ما انا فاكره ، طريقه حلوه جداً .. لازم تجربها في مره smile emoticon

:طريقة ممتازه جداً تؤكد اهم دروس الايمان
في الاوقات المظلمه في حياتك ، اغلق عينينك و استعيد كيف كان أبوك السماوي يمسك بيدك و يقودك في طرق تبدو بلا نهايه من الالم و الخوف و القلق و الظلمه
.وكيف عبر بك سالماً مطمئناً
.تأكد ان الذكريات لن ترسم لك خيالاً او خداع بل حقائق اختبرتها بالفعل مع الله ذات يوم
كان الله يعلم ان موسى و الشعب كله سيسقطون فريسه للخوف و القلق عندما يواجهون أعداء يفوقونهم عدداً و قوة

:و كانت استجابة الله ان دعاه الله ان " يتذكر " عمله فيهم
